Between Martin Luther King Day and Presidents Day, the FASTRAN Bus will travel to different Bloom, Giant, and Shoppers locations in Fairfax County. All donations directly benefit local nonprofit organizations that help feed families and individuals in need in the Fairfax-Falls Church Community. Last year, with the cooperation between FASTRAN, volunteers, and community members, the 11 events collected a total of 20,434 pounds of food and supplies which were valued at $34,533.46.

In 2011, OP3 facilitated Fairfax County Employee IMPACT - an ongoing campaign to encourage and recognize giving and volunteering by individuals and groups of employees. This year IMPACT focused on promoting the use of V-16, volunteer leave available to full-time employees, resulting in a 30% increase in Fairfax County employee volunteer engagement. 1,576 employees contributed more than 12,000 hours of volunteer time through the V-16 leave in 2011. In addition to volunteering, many County agencies hosted holiday giving drives that donated food, clothing, toys, and gifts to nonprofit organizations.
