OP3 Helps APL

This summer we helped the Parks and the Park Foundation with partnerships and strategic "gives" for the Amateur Public Links Championship. Those donations from Giant (a freezer truck and food) and Advantage Rent A Car (fleet vans) were valued at almost $30,000. The APL was a great success, so much that there is a rumor that USGA might consider Laurel Hill for a future tournament!

"I've learned so much from the staff at the Grants Research and Training Center. We are stronger grant writers because of their programs and we've received grant funding because of their expert advice! The expansive knowledge the entire team at OP3 shares with non-profits is invaluable."

Collect for Kids

Collect for Kids started with an idea to help kids who might otherwise go without, receive school supplies and backpacks. Many not-for-profit and for-profit organizations worked independently raising money and soliciting donations to help give kids the tools they need to be successful in school. In 2010 working, under the guiding notion that "we can serve more working together" these twenty-plus independent organizations came together to form "Collect for Kids." Put the ZIP on Homelessness!
Donate, wear jeans, raise awareness! The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Partnership on Ending Homelessness needs your help to make our third annual Jeans Day a success. Give $5 and wear jeans October 18 to put the ZIP on homelessness in Northern Virginia. Donate online, by check or in person!
Here are a few ideas to make your Jeans Day a huge success. It's fun and simple to organize.

  1. Ask people to come to work in their jeans and make a donation of $5. It's a great way to bring a team, a floor, an office building or the whole company together.
  2. Download the Jeans Day flyer and distribute. Post it on your bulletin board or internal portal!
  3. Raise the profile of your organization by highlighting your Jeans Day in your annual report, on your Web site and in your local paper or trade magazine.
  4. Make a night of it! The fun doesn't have to stop at 5 p.m.; hold a happy hour or karaoke night.

Thanks to Apple Federal Credit Union, Fairfax Chamber of Commerce,The Connection Newspapers and the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness for their Jeans Day work. Look for their jeans on October 18!
