Firefighter Collect for Kids

Newest members of the OP3 team: Trish Walker and Dianne Quebral. Trish is replacing Debbye Jensen who retired in August and Dianne's position replaces Ingrid Parris-Hicklin, who retired earlier this year.

OP3 Welcomes Dianne Quebral and Trish Walker

Dianne hails from the Medical Reserve Corps and completes our Partnership Development team and will focus on Corporate Partnering. With corporate, government and nonprofit experience, she brings a fresh voice to the "corporate" side of the house. Trish is our new administrative assistant and comes to us from the Department of Management and Budget. She will be a great organizational asset as we focus on County partnership opportunities for 2012-2013.

Welcome to both!

Fairfax Library Foundation (FLF)

Founded in 1994, the Fairfax Library Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, has focused on raising supplementary funds for the Fairfax County Public Library. Through its work it has provided private funding as well as advocated for library programs and services, library hours, and bond referendums amidst periods of economic hardship that have not been favorable toward public library branches in Fairfax County.

The library enriches the quality of our lives here in Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax. More>>

Give & Get Involved Companies that Care! Training & Resources

Come out on THIS Sunday, October 21 from 2-5 PM to support Our Daily Bread's Complete the Circle FOODraiser. Complete the Circle is a creative, meaningful service project for groups, individuals, and families, where volunteers and community members join together to create a "living painting" of the image above that will be photographed from the sky. Food donations collected will 'complete the circle' of giving by framing the picture that day and later feeding our neighbors in need.

More than 450 people are already registered! Their goal is to have 1,000 participants, collect 10,000lbs of food and raise $10K. Registration is free and participants are asked to purchase a special event T-shirt for $5 which will 'color" the image. Once the image is complete, artist Daniel Dancer of Art for the Sky will take an aerial photo.

It's a great cause and a unique way to achieve it! Be sure to mark your calendars.

If someone were to Tweet about PNC they might say... "Can you hear the children clapping? Take a bow @PNC. Thanks 4 Arts n the Parks! #summerconcerts #growupgreat"

PNC, an institution with more than 150 years of history, has a long standing commitment of supporting the communities it serves. In Fairfax County their generous donations of time and resources have resulted in a long standing partnership with the Fairfax County Park's "Arts in the Parks." This collaboration has helped maintain "Arts in the Parks" as a free cultural, educational resource to Fairfax County children and families. Additionally, PNC's employees have donated more than 400 hours of employee support ranging from serving on the Board of Directors to hosting workshops on planned giving and social media strategies. Not surprisingly, PNC is being honored by the Fairfax County Park Foundation as the corporate recipient of the 2012 Eakin Philanthropy Award recognizing financial contributions and volunteerism that directly enhance Fairfax County parks.

And that's not all! In conjunction with their"Grow Up Great" initiative, they also support Fairfax Futures, Main Street Child Development and the Falls Church-Mclean's Children's Center. Their bonds to Fairfax are deep and fruitful!

Hats off to PNC for all they do for Fairfax!
