Stevens Retires

On March 1, Patti Stevens retired as OP3 Executive Director. Plans are being finalized for OP3 to join forces with staff from several offices who have been supporting work on economic success and Patti's position will be repositioned to lead the new expanded organization. In the meantime, OP3 will continue to create partnership opportunities for our nonprofit, public and private partners, just as we always have done. Stay tuned!

Fairfax County Housing Hackathon

It's no secret that housing is expensive in the D.C. area. However, it’s not just affordability that’s a problem. People with disabilities and older adults can face unique housing difficulties.
In an effort to generate innovative solutions for these unique housing needs, Fairfax County sponsored a “Housing Hackathon.” It brought together more than 70 data analysts, engineers and developers from the private sector, nonprofits and universities whose goal was to help find a better way, using technology, to connect landlords with people who need housing.

After 10 years, as Executive Director of the Office of Public Private Partnerships and 21 years with Fairfax County, Patti Stevens retired on March 1.

Drawing on her vast breadth of County and local knowledge added to endless enthusiasm, she gave life to literally hundreds of small and large partnerships, touching thousands of Fairfax County residents. From VEX Robotics, to Workforce Inclusion (WIN), to Economic Success, Workhouse Arts Center (and Brewfest) to Tour de Mt. Vernon, her fingerprints are ensconced in many successful Fairfax County programs.

Her next adventure will be traveling cross country, in a camper, with her husband Pat. Patti will be missed by many in our nonprofit, for profit and government families. We wish her well on the next phase of her life. And we aren't the only ones, below are a few excerpts of well wishes.

"I believe partnerships of all kinds are the future of successful delivery of public services, and Patti has been a very effective apostle."

"Our community is so much richer due to your leadership!"

"You have made a positive difference in Fairfax County!"

"Thank you for all that you did to support the work of Fairfax County Public Schools."
