Cabot Creamery's thanked Fairfax County Park volunteers for their work by serving them lunch at Burke Lake Park on Friday, April 8. The Cabot Farmers' Gratitude Grille is a full service traveling kitchen where Cabot chefs prepare healthy, delicious meals to feed hungry volunteers and say thanks.

Cabot Creamery Lauds FFx. Co. Volunteer of the Year

For the second year, OP3 partner Cabot Creamery Cooperative invited the Fairfax County Volunteer of the Year to join their Celebrity Cruise honoring outstanding community contributors. Fairfax County Public Library volunteer Fred Pitman received this award from Volunteer Fairfax and will sail to Alaska in June!

Patricia Stevens, OP3 Executive Director moderated a panel on public private partnerships at the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) National Conference in Seattle in March.

Shark Tank Assistive Technology Challenge

Last fall the Fairfax Area 50+ Technology Committee issued a challenge to all high school students in Fairfax County, Fairfax City, and the City of Falls Church to develop an innovative device or application that would have a positive impact on the lives of older adults. Twenty-four students took the challenge. After an impressive demonstration by 4 individual and 2 team finalists in front of expert judges, the Shark Tank Assistive Technology Challenge winners will be honored

During April, a portion of any "Springtime Garden" arrangement purchased from Karin's Florist will be donated to Fairfax County Park Foundation to help send local children in need to Frying Pan Farm Park camp programs.

Fairfax County's Earth Day and Arbor Day event will be at the Lorton Workhouse, Saturday, April 30 from 10am-4pm. Over 75 vendors, exhibitors  and food trucks will be at SpringFest. Also look for the Fairfax County Restoration Project's Environmental Film Festival that will run all day. Admission is FREE!

SPARC, an organization for young adults with disabilities, is holding a raffle to benefit SPARC clubhouses and programs. Only 300 tickets will be sold for a chance to win a trip to London, England. Drawing to be held May 5.

The fair, held at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel, will feature seminars on changing careers, online job searching, continuing education, and resume help. Keynote speaker will be WJLA Chief Meteorologist Doug Hill. Event is sponsored by the Jewish Council for the Aging, Fairfax County and community partners. Admission and parking is free.

INTEGRITYOne Partners (IOP) delivers technology solutions to federal government agencies with impressive results, including the fact that they have never lost a client. Their community outreach and charitable contribution record is as impressive as their client track record is. Most recently, they supported Fairfax County Shark Tank Assistive Challenge with a substantial donation, and served as mentors and judges for the high school students who took on the inventive challenge.

IOP fosters a culture of engagement with their employees encouraging them to give and get involved.

With his eye ever on the ball, Michael Waddell, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, formed a golf tournament committee on behalf of FamilyPASS Fairfax County. "Like" them on Facebook to keep informed of the October 6th FamilyPASS tournament to be held at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, VA. Together, we can chip away at homelessness in Fairfax County.
