OP3 News

Volunteer Fairfax held their awards ceremony April 24 celebrating their 45-year history of volunteering. In 2018 the nominees gave more than 328,760 hours of time valued at $8 million! Add that to the 1.6 million hours of people who volunteer solely for Fairfax County Government and the economic value of volunteers nears $50 million!

Fairfax County will sponsor a FREE Grant Writing Seminar on May 13. OP3 is working with Neighborhood and Community Services and Procurement and Material Management departments to increase the knowledge of people interested in applying for grants.

FCRP Partner Cleanup

As we finish celebrating earth day, we want to highlight another successful cleanup. A stretch of road in Annandale is much nicer place to look at now thanks to an idea sparked on NextDoor and a partnership between Fairfax County Restoration Project, Friends of Accotink Creek, and the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services.

Earlier this year more than 80 volunteers spent four hours collecting trash and hauling away discarded construction debris along Americana Drive, a stretch of road in Annandale.

Thanks to Fairfax County Government, Cox Communications, Freddie Mac, Capital One and Hilton Hotels & Resorts and many others who came and rocked the cleanup! And h/t to Best Buy for the dumpster and Clean Fairfax for all the supplies and organizational help!
