Transforming Local Government

OP3 was selected to present as an innovative case study at the Transforming Local Government Conference on June 1-3. Patti Stevens and Karen Fuentes led a workshop on "Partnerships that Produce" to provide an in depth look at the ingenuity and creativity of successful government programs. They also learned about innovative practices from the 540 local government attendees representing 23 states and Canada.

Fairfax County Park Foundation
The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) received the National Gold Metal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management, the industry's highest honor. The Fairfax County Park Foundation supports the FCPA by raising private funds, obtaining grants, and creating partnerships that supplement tax dollars to meet community needs for park land, facilities, and services. Way To Give Companies That Care Resources & Training
Did you know that more than 44,000 children of low income families in Fairfax County Public Schools receive free or reduced lunch? You can help make sure that these kids do not miss a meal when school is out. Volunteers and host organizations are needed to serve 5,000 children a day through the USDA Summer Food Service. ExxonMobil, McLean Chamber of Commerce, and Westfields Business Owners Association were a few of the companies recognized at the "Celebrate 2011 Business and Community Partnerships Awards" for their contributions to the County and the school system.
