Collect for Kids
School may have just ended, but the collection of school supplies for this fall is
in full swing. More than 47,000 FCPS students qualify for free and reduced lunch and purchasing new school supplies is simply not in many family's budgets! That's where Collect for Kids comes in. Collect for Kids donates new supplies to kids that need them so they can fit in and start the year right. Help by donating today:
- Visit the website to donate directly
- Check out our partners and give directly to their individual drives
- Go to any Apple Federal Credit Union to donate.
- Visit select Starbucks and leave your donation in their lobby.
- Tweet or post about your donation using #Collect4Kids.
There's nothing like the feeling of a new backpack to make learning fun! Help make that happen!
Airbus Partners with Cornerstones
Airbus Americas headquarters located in Herndon is more than just the US headquarters for Airbus and its Americas Customer Service hub. It's also a terrific community partner whose generous donation of time and capital has helped Cornerstones operate a great summer program.
The Airbus' cash donation of $7000 and 30 volunteers has helped Cornerstones run two camps highlighting reading; photography and mixed media; and telescope and website building. Additionally, their generous donation helped the PEARLS group operate a three week summer chef camp. PEARLS is an all girls, 5th – 8th grade, group who meet weekly to participate in various activities including STEM oriented projects, art challenges and service learning. The program supports positive self-image, leadership and friendship.
Kudos to Airbus for their great community partnership work! Their contributions make a difference in children's lives and also create the STEM workforce needed for our future.
